There are some sweepstakes that will award prizes to the person with the most votes. You may feel that you have the cutest pet, best room decorating idea, or most mouth-watering recipe, but if you enter a voting contest, the highest number of votes wins the prize. Personally these types of sweeps are not a favorite of mine, but there is a whole thread in our Forum with is devoted to this topic.
If you are any established member of SweepsAdvantage or SweepstakesPlus, you are welcome to pop into the Referral and Vote Requests thread to promote your contest. However, if you are new to the site, you must be a member for at least two week before you can start asking for votes. The Referral and Vote Requests introduction makes this very clear, but overly eager posters do not always read it. The thought is that we want to reward our members with votes and discourage people who are only showing up to try to garner more votes for themselves.
Our members know that the courteous thing to do with voting contests is to return the favor. If you are requesting votes for your contest, please help other members with their contests by casting a vote for them too.
Also, none of us like getting spammed on our own website. Voting requests need to stay within the Referral and Vote Requests section.
The voting contests require more work than your average entry form contest, so fewer people enter them. This of course, reduces the number of entrants and increases your chances of winning. Let us know if you need votes for your sweepstakes, and remember to support other members with your reciprocal vote.
