With so many different sweepstakes out there, not every prize is going to appeal to every visitor. At SweepsAdvantage and SweepstakesPlus, we don't pick the prizes – or the winners – we just provide the links. As I read through various comments that people have posted, it is interesting to see how some prizes are desired and others are reviled.
Just this week, a sweepstakes went up where the prize is the opportunity to attend a dinner for Barack Obama. Some visitors were excited at the chance to see the president in person. Others would not want to be in the same room with him. The appeal of prizes, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
Another type of prize that always sparks comments is hunting trips. Usually it is the non-hunters who initiate the discussions. A sweepstakes that offers a guided trip to a wilderness area to shoot big game is not for everyone. For someone on one side of the spectrum, this would be an appalling prize. For someone on the other side, it is a great opportunity to participate in a favorite sport. Remember, we just post the links, we don't select the prizes.
When you come across a sweepstakes that you don't like, should you enter it anyway? No. Why would you want to sit down to dinner with a person you don't like or take a shot at an animal that you don't want to eat? Believe me, there is someone who really wants that dinner invitation. There is someone else for whom the hunting prize would be a sportsman dream. Not for you? Take a pass. I promise you there are plenty of sweepstakes left that you DO want to win.
