Sweepstakes for a Cause

Just as a business wants to make you aware of the products and services it provides, charities also want to claim your attention.  One way to put an organization on your radar is by running a sweepstakes.

Although I don't face this situation in my own household, I know several parents who are raising children who have been diagnosed with autism.  As one parent explained it to me, the autism spectrum is now very broad.  A diagnosis of autism could mean your child is a little awkward socially, or the child could have very low functionality and need extra help.  If you are a parent with an autistic child, or you are just seeking more information, one website you could visit would be Autism Learning Felt.  One of the prizes they are currently showcasing is a 12 month Learning Link program via online course worth 0.  As they say, knowledge is power.

The Susan G. Komen organization and National Breast Cancer Foundations have done a great job of raising awareness for womens health issues surrounding the topic of breast cancer.  Those familiar pink ribbons are a sign of your support for breast cancer research and as well as a salute to survivors.  When you see a sweepstakes featuring candy pink prizes, there's a good chance that it has something to do with breast cancer awareness.

These are not the only charitable organizations sponsoring sweepstakes, just the two which happen to be highlighted today.  You do not need to give a donation to enter these kinds of sweepstakes, though you may certainly choose to do so for a cause you support.
