If you need a reason to celebrate the joy of sweepstakes, rejoice, it's American Craft Beer Week! Beer and sweepstakes might not seem to go together, but there are many brewers who sponsor terrific sweepstakes.
One award winning American Craft brewer that come to mind is Samuel Adams. They run sweepstakes all the time, and are about to wrap up one where home brewers are competing to have their beer bottled and shared with the public. Quite an opportunity for the home craftsman! Although I personally did not enter this one, I'll be watching for their next sweepstakes because they always give out nice prizes.
Some of the larger national brewers also run sweepstakes on a regular basis. Many of us have won music downloads, shirts, electronics, sports equipment and more from Miller, Budweiser, Coors and other great sponsors. Remember the sweepstakes from last year where the grand prize was a hooptie? That was definitely a unique prize! We still have the dashboard hula girl we won on that one.
“Why don't the beer sponsors give away beer?”, you may ask. There are a number of reasons why they can't do this, starting with state restrictions involving the distribution of alcohol. Nevertheless, the wealth of promotional prizes that brewers give out is impressive. In most states, adults can enter to win these prizes, but some states don't allow their residents to participate. Sorry, Tennessee and California, your states have the most restrictive rules. If it were up to SweepsAdvantage, we would love to let you play, but alas your states say “no”.
