Sarah Palin Sweepstakes Emails

Well, as far as I know, there aren't any.  If the subject of sweeptakes ever came up during her term as governor, apparently she did not email about it.  Huh?  Why did you write this blog entry then?  Simple, for the same reason that sweepstakes sponsors offer prizes – to draw attention to their products.

The internet makes it much easier to reach a large audience quickly and sponsors know that a sweepstakes, like a misleading title, will draw you into their website.  Do they really give away the prizes they advertise?  Yes. Many site post a Winners link, or provide any address where you can request one if you want to see for yourself who won.

Do you realize that you also help the sponsors advertise their products?  Facebook is an obvious example.  Most Facebook sweeps want you to “Like” their product before you can enter the sweepstakes.  Odds are you will click “Like” in order to enter, whether or not you are really familiar with the product.  Whether you are an avid consumer or just a sweepstakes entrant, your “Like” will make the product look more popular and may persuade another visitor to buy it.

No doubt you have also noticed that many sponsors offer extra entries if you email their link to a friend.  Sometimes the friend has to click the link and enter, but often you just need to spread the news.  This is a classic win-win situation.  When you enter a sweepstakes, the sponsor enlists your help in promoting their product, and you get the chance to win a great prize!
