“Everything happens for a reason, luck and fate are the same thing. It just depends on how you look at life.” – Anonymous

Some people believe in luck, where others see it as the good parts in life that we're deserving of. As a member of the sweepstakes community, where I both give prizes and enter to win prizes, I see luck in a totally different way. To me, luck is what happens when the right set of circumstances cross your path and you've done the footwork to get there. If I had to say how I felt about luck, I would say that:

“Luck is what occurs when your path crosses the right opportunities that you take without knowing the outcome.” – Me

Having said that, you may agree or disagree with anonymous or me but in the end we all have our own visions of what luck is. Regardless, I think there's one thing we can all agree on and that is what we grew up being told was good luck vs. bad luck. For example, a broken mirror is supposed to give you 7 years of bad luck, whereas a 4-leaf clover is good luck!

Although, many cultures have different views of what is good luck and bad luck when it comes to objects or occurrences. Some cultures believe that a horseshoe facing upwards means luck (or protection), certain gems such as Cat's Eye, Sapphires and Amber is also supposed to bring luck. My lucky object is a 1921 Silver Morgan Dollar coin (made into a belt buckle) that was handed down to me by my mother who got it from her father. What's yours?
