I love sweepstakes and I enter them all the time. However, there are a few things that I sometimes encounter that just annoy me to no end.
The worst offender: sites with graphics that are so overwhelmingly complex and amazing that my computer can't run them. I'm sure that website designers adore playing with new programs and coming up with graphics that are really mind-blowing. I get it, but when all I want to do is enter a sweep and I can't because the graphics won't load there is nothing more aggravating.
Another sweep situation that rubs me wrong is when a Daily sweep doesn't have a return users link that will recognize me and let me back in. It's even worse if I have to fill out a questionnaire every time. I can't imagine how this is helping the sponsor as I am providing the same feedback every day.
In a different vein, this is something I see on blog sweepstakes sometimes and I always want to correct it. If you are limiting participation to residents of the United States, it's “US” not “us”. Admittedly, this is the same thing for many visitors, but not all.
There are other things I could gripe about, but really, these are the ones that really bug me. Considering how many sweepstakes I enter every day, most of them run smoothly and are easy to navigate. When I enter a sweepstakes, I am signing up to – hopefully – get a fantastic prize for free, so really, I can't complain. Thank you, sweepstakes sponsors!
