Tips on Entering Contests Part 3

Of course there are more tips on how to enter contests.  I'm thinking of writing a book.  If you guys can come up with a catchy name for it … *snaps back to reality*.  Sorry about that.  I was dreaming of book tours and fame.  On to more tips – many contests give you the chance to optimize your entries.  For instance, some Facebook contests will let you refer friends and when you do so, you gain extra entries into the contest.  Now a word of caution here would be to make sure your friends and family don't mind you using them as a referral.  If you are going to make an enemy out of them, it's probably not worth referring them.

Another good suggestion is that you should keep a record of the contests you win.  The main reason for this is that you might possibly be able to notice a pattern with your wins which will in turn help you to win even more contests.  Keeping up with the contests you have won also gives you inspiration and makes you want to enter more contests which also increases your chance of winning.  The more you enter, the more you win.  Tracking the contests you win also helps you keep up with whether or not you got the prize.  I always file my winning notifications in a folder in my email account until I get the prize.

Make sure you have a set time each day where you devote your attention to entering contests.  It doesn't have to be the same time every day because you probably want to play around and find times when you are winning (you know, like two o'clock in the morning?).  However, give yourself, say, thirty minutes a day to enter contests that you want to win.  If you have more time, use it by entering even more contests.  The idea is to find out what works for you.  Some days you won't have as much time as other days.  On the days where you are short on time, enter the contests that are most important to you.
