Yes, there are sweepstakes for a worldwide audience. However, the sweepstakes on the SweepsAdvantage website are primarily for people who are located in the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom.
How do I know if I can enter? There are separated categories that are for “Canada Only” and “UK Only”. However, there are plenty of sweepstakes that are open to a wider audience. In the SweepsAdvantage listings, take a look at the “Restrictions” field. There is a “Restriction” link at the bottom of each listing. If, for example, it says “US, Canada” then the sweep is open to residents of both countries. If the Restrictions field says “None”, “N/A”, “Worldwide” or “Open to All” then there are no restrictions at all and anyone can enter. The Restrictions field will also indicate whether there are age limitations, which are typically 18+ or 21+, to limit the entrants to adults only.
Why aren't all sweepstakes open to everybody all the time? There are a number of reasons why a sweepstakes might be limited. A sponsor simply may not want to pay postage to ship an item to Tierra Del Fuego or Nunavut. Some prizes have geographic limitations. A prize like tickets for a local show that does not include transportation or lodging would not be practical for someone outside that area. Different states and countries also have different laws that govern sweepstakes. California, for example, does not allow any sweepstakes that involve alcohol or manufacturers of alcoholic beverages – even if the prizes do no include any alcohol. We don't set the rules, but we do try to make it easy for you to identify all the sweepstakes you can enter.
