I love music. Not all music, admittedly, but lots of music. It is so easy today to find and catalogue old favorites that I do get a little lazy about searching for new bands. One of the ways that new artists try to reach an audience is by running sweepstakes with copies of their CD's as prizes. Do you put in entries to take a chance on new bands, or do you tend to skip right past these sweeps?
If you're feeling a little adventurous, you might be rewarded with a new CD that you really like. Should you discover that there is a really good reason what that CD is not getting any airplay and never will, all it cost you is a minute of your time to fill out the entry form. And on the plus side, you can always regift it to someone who might actually like it. Or not, heh, heh.
Luckily for us, the last two unknown artist sweepstakes we won both found fans within the household. The heavy metal faction claimed the “Razor” CD and sets the dial at 11. The singalong crew vastly prefers the catchy “Rooney” CD, played at a less strident volume.
For music you can download right to your computer, Marlboro always has a new selection of featured artists. As sponsors go, Marlboro is 5-star. They run several fun sweepstakes each year with very desirable prizes. In addition, they give out a lot of free items and coupons along with the free music downloads. Their selections tend to lean towards rock, bluegrass and country. If your musical tastes are more smooth urban, Black&Mild is another sponsor that has free music you can download. Like Marlboro, they also run frequent sweepstakes with rather nice prizes.
