I usually post a blog entry first thing in the morning, but I waited today thinking that I would comment on TLC's latest “High Stakes Sweepers”. Well, surprise, there is no new show tonight. TLC's offering this evening is “My Collection Obsession.” In their words “My Collection Obsession takes you deep inside the world of four of the country's most obsessed collectors each taking their material obsession to jaw-dropping extremes. What will be the next big score in their collection mania?”
Sounds kind of familiar, doesn't it? If coupon fanciers and sweepstakes enthusiasts get the ‘extreme' treatment, why not collectors too. I suspect there will eventually be more “High Stakes Sweepers” shows as people were intrigued and want to know more about how to win at sweepstakes.
No matter what other winning tips other sweepers provide, persistence is the one thing that always pays off. Eventually. There is no surefire winning formula for sweepstakes, despite what some hobbyists might tell you. If you want to win, you have to enter lots of sweepstakes and keep entering them. Some people get lucky right away and it takes other people longer to win. But if you have enough entries out there, yes, you will eventually win something.
A dedicated sweeper could be called “extreme”, I suppose, but in our case, I think a better word is “persistent”. My guess is that the coupon crowd also values persistence. I'm not sure what to think of the collectors. Wrong show, but I may have to watch TLC tonight anyway, while I'm entering sweepstakes, of course.
