Did you watch TLC's “High Stakes Sweepers” this weekend? It profiled five different “extreme” sweepers in their quest for sweepstakes goodies. We at SweepsAdvantage and SweepstakesPlus have noted before that Instant Win sweepstakes are very popular. The TV sweepers seem to share this opinion. One of the profiled folks went so far so to go out on a group shopping spree with her local sweepstakes club in search of products offering sweepstakes. They stood around opening boxes and reading labels which, this time, showed the familiar and unwelcome message “Sorry, not a winner”.
I hope the products that were purchased on “High Stakes Sweepers” were not purchased solely for the sweepstakes. This show is bound to draw in curious first time sweepers who may think that you need to buy things in order to win. Not true. You can certainly choose to support a sponsor and buy their products, but part of the appeal of sweepstakes is that it is a no-cost hobby with a potentially big payout.
Never think that winning is a guaranteed result. I'm sure the “High Stakes Sweepers” would agree that hearing “you're so lucky!” is only partially true. Yes, winning is a matter of luck. It is also a result of hard work. The people that win lots of prizes and big prizes are persistent. They win because they enter lots and lots of sweepstakes.
Yes, you could get lucky the first time you enter a sweepstakes. The thought of scoring that awesome instant win keeps us all fired up. Luck is definitely a factor, but remember that persistence is what keeps people winning. Good luck!
