Yet, another question....

I'm learning as I go, and appreciate all the answers
you have given to my numerous questions. :headbang:

I have one more:
I noticed that some of the contests specify in the rules [small print] that
you must sign-up [or click 'yes'] for their newsletter, or your [possibly winning] entry will be disqualified.
Other contests give the 'option' of clicking yes to receive their newsletter without
mention of whether subscribing has a bearing on your entry. And still others have a disclaimer that
'subscribing to the newsletter does *not* affect your chances of winning either way'.

So this is my question... If a newsletter is offered, or special mailings from sponsors, etc....
and there is *nothing statin* that if you don't subscribe you will be disqualified...
do you check 'yes' to all anyway, just in case?

Next question-
Does subscribing to Sweeps Advantage (paying the yearly fee) make it easier to keep track of what you've entered and what you haven't [?] without having to check and save the Sweeps Check button?
I just cannot remember to use that button, and I think...if only I could pull-up a list of what I entered and what I didn't, life would sure be easier!

Not subscribing to something not required for entering, does not disqualify a person. You have to keep in mind that rules are as legally binding as a contract and have to be worded precisely, clearly, and outline what is and/or isn't required for entry and winning (although I've seen a lot of badly written ones with poor grammar and punctuation). There are also laws and regulations governing the running of a sweepstakes/contests in each state that the sponsor must abide by.

About your first question - If nothing is stated about subscribing, I suppose it would be a personal decision. If it doesn't say you must subscribe to enter, it should be safe not to subscribe (but only each sponsor could really answer that for each individual case). For me, I only subscribe if I am interested in the newsletter.
Other SA members may have different ideas or opinions about this.

About your second question - "Does subscribing to Sweeps Advantage (paying the yearly fee) make it easier to keep track of what you've entered and what you haven't [?] without having to check and save the Sweeps Check button?"

:) Nope! You still must check the Sweeps Check button and Save. You must communicate in this way or how else could your information get saved?

What is different about being a Sweeps Plus member is where you save, not how you save. Sweeps Plus members have the option of creating custom categories and saving their sweeps to those categories. (Some of the most useful custom categories I created are Multiple Entries [which I use for IWs that you can enter many times per day], Magazines [so I can be more alert and not inadvertently subscribe], and Enter Later [which I learned from member judge :)]).

So, you still have to use Sweeps Check and Save, but I think they are both wonderful features for everyone, and not hard to use at all. :headbang:

 amerpatrt - have you had a chance to read:

I LOVE SweepsCheck:

SweepsCheck: Mark those sweeps you've entered/decided AGAINST entering. Makes doing end of the month sweeps a snap! Also allows you to quickly see the newest added, as you check back throughout the day, without having to look at the ones you already decided on!!! Remember - click Save my Sweepstakes or refresh the page if you have pop ups allowed at SA, to save.

Oh yeah - if I fall behind {I usually do for ALL but the IW category  } I just use:

SweepsPoP - I go to CHECK ALL SWEEPSCHECK & select it & it marks all the sweeps on that page, then I just have to look at each sweeps on that page & I ONLY have to use the drop down under the sweeps I enter/want to add to MYSWEEPS

Having already added the ones I wanted to keep to MYSWEEPS the last time I checked for newest added, I don't worry about re-entering!!!

Also, it saves me a step & this way I don't forget to use SweepsCheck - the only downside is if I ALREADY added it to MYSWEEPS & used SweepsCheck it changes the date

FYI - quick way to see if you missed any newly added?

I C&P Entry Date to "Find" in FF & hit "NEXT" and only have to look at the unmarked SWEEPSCHECK's :headbang:
