AP - Evel Knievel, the red-white-and-blue-spangled motorcycle daredevil whose jumps over crazy obstacles including Greyhound buses, live sharks and Idaho's Snake River Canyon made him an international icon in the 1970s, died Friday. He was 69.

I grew up watching his amazing motorcycle stunts back in the 70s. What a great stunt rider. The man has literally broken every bone in his body during his career, and that he lived through it all is really amazing. What an amazing man Mr. Knievel was...R.I.P.
