I was the grand prize winner of the osacr mayer nascar miami trip, but i don't feel safe traveling the trip is next week, i asked if they had a substitute prize they said no so i forfeited the trip.

That's too bad. But at least you know you can win a big prize like this! I have a feeling by July of this year no one will be talking about this virus any longer.
I actually received an email from Southwest Airlines stating all the things they are doing to keep the planes safe and clean. I thought this was a good idea.
So if anyone wins a trip that you can schedule for later in the year I would consider not turning it down. Thank you for being a Plus subscriber. :)

It's hard to believe a company like OM would screw you like that - wow! Sorry. That's just ridiculous when we're seeing everything shut down. I'm gonna post something now at their web site - maybe if enough of us do they'll realize it's bad publicity for them. Not to worry, I won't say you complained, you just explained what happened.

p.s. I just posted this on their March 8, 6:40pm post which ironically referenced the Miami race in 2 weeks - please consider posting or at least liking the comment so we can
bring pressure on them to get bingotrac a substitute prize:

Yeah, I've got a comment. Somebody posted at a sweepstakes forum (not complaining, just explaining) that they had won a trip for this race in your sweepstakes and said that they were afraid to travel because of the Covid-19 pandemic (CDC and government are advising us not to travel, especially on airplanes) and asked if there was a substitute prize and were turned down.

Seriously? A company your size wouldn't allow an equivalent cash option during this time? What the heck is wrong with you? I'll reserve judgment but unless you do the right thing it's the last time I'll ever buy one of your products because not only is that cheap, it's wrong. It is very hard to win a grand prize, the vast majority of people never do in their lifetimes, and to screw someone over like this in a nationwide medical emergency is unthinkable to me. They didn't enter your sweepstakes with the intention of trying to get cash, but no one I know wants to fly now. And btw, for all you know NASCAR may prohibit fans from attending their races for a while, based on what the NCAA and the NBA did yesterday, and then what are you going to do for the other winners (there were 5) who then can't take the trip??? Tell them, 'too bad, so sad, glad I'm not you'?

Please reconsider and do the right thing. ☹️

p.s. I suspect it's not your fault but that of the sweepstakes administrator.

Update: 9:13 am CDT

I just heard on the Dan Patrick sports radio show that NASCAR is postponing this race. I also just saw this from a Google search:

The March 22 NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway may be postponed due to concerns around COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, Miami-Dade County officials announced Thursday, March 12. The county's mayor, Carlos Gimenez, issued a statement Thursday announcing that the county is under a state of emergency.

NASCAR won't allow fans to either of the next 2 races including Miami. There were 5 grand prize winners, not just you, and I'm assuming they'll be compensated somehow or offered a later trip when things settle down. I highly recommend that you contact them with this information and see if they'll do the right thing.

I did contact them and sent them the press release they have no responded back.

Obviously never been to a NASCAR race or the Homestead Miami Speedway. We stand during the National Anthem.

I have been to a lot of nascar races. I know we stand but you also have about 50,000 people so the odds are good for someone to be sick.

thank you.

You declined the prize. Now you want to get it back? God Bless you. As a fan, you know you can watch the race on T.V.

It's heartening to encounter an act of random smug sarcasm especially since you don't know what you're talking about - it won't be on TV because it appears
to have been cancelled, from what Stacy Jones says below.

https://www.espn.com/racing/nascar/story/_/id/28897931/nascar-postpones-atlanta-homestead-races

Crowe, a retired fireman, offered lukewarm support of the decision to postpone the race.

"Well, I wish they would have held the event, I really do, but I guess I have to support them," he said. "They've probably got more information than I do about this stuff. I'm just disappointed."

Stacy Jones, who said he's had the same camping spot for almost 10 years, said he wasn't too disappointed since he had expected Sunday's race to be rained out.
"They told us our money will go toward next year's event," Jones said. "We come every year anyway. We just won't have to pay next year.''

As college and professional sports leagues canceled events or postponed their seasons one by one, NASCAR, IndyCar and F1 were among the very few organizations planning to press ahead this weekend. Finally, even the prospect of staging races without fans was deemed to be unsafe.

There was no announcement from either NASCAR or IndyCar on rescheduling races.
