won GP! trip to Spain!!

FedEx brought an envelope today from The National Sweepstakes Company, informing me I won the grand prize in the Give & Go Sweepstakes! We are so excited! DH was in Barcelona while stationed in Europe during the Vietnam war but hasn't been to Madrid. I've never been to Spain. Did I say we were excited??? :laughing:

Here's the details:

(1) Grand Prize consisting of two (2) round trip coach class Travel Authorization Certificates from any city served by American Airlines or its Airline Associates in the 48 contiguous United States to Madrid, Spain, four (4) nights hotel accommodations at Melia Madrid Princesa hotel, one (1) $1,000 gift card (brand of gift card to be at the sole discretion of the Sponsor), round trip ground transportation from airport to the hotel in Madrid, two (2) tickets to a flamenco show including dinner, and two (2) tickets to a professional soccer match in Madrid (the "Soccer Tickets"), if available at time of travel**. Total Approximate Retail Value (the "ARV") of all prizes: $7,500.00

In order to receive the tickets to the soccer match, we have to travel between Jan 15 2010 and Apr 15 2010. So in less than six months, I'll be in Spain! Woo Hoo!!
 
That is an awesome, awesome win, congratz & I wish you a wonderful trip...hubby ask me everyday have I won a trip yet :whistle:!

Great win!!!!! Sounds fantastic! Take lots of pictures and share them here when you get back!

Hint: Compile a list of expenses for the various parts of the trip for use with the IRS. I know that that is a lot of trouble but it will pay off in the long run. For example:
........... a R/T ticket to Madrid from Seattle is currently just $630/person on American Airlines.
........... a 4 night stay at the Melia Madrid Princesa hotel costs on average $300/night.
........... if the airport/hotel R/T transfers are via hotel van $0, via ride share van $40.00, via private Luxury Sedan $150.00, via Limo $250.00 and up.
........... Flaminco show with dinner $250.00/couple.
........... Soccer tickets for 2 $80.00
........... $1000.00 gift card.

So, I am seeing only about $4000.00 there. (and I just checked all of those prices online)

You will find that your total prize value will be several thousand dollars LESS than $7,500. (Unless they put you in the Presidential Suite :) )
