Won a prize, doesn't work

Hey Sweepers,

I won a prize, a TV, back in August through the Heinz Table Game App Sweepstakes, and I kept it in it's box (I didn't need a TV) until I gave it as a gift for Xmas. I never checked to see if it worked properly, and guess what? It doesn't work. I emailed the marketing team that had contacted be during the sweepstakes (it's a different company- not Heinz) and I've also emailed Heinz. Has anyone had a problem like this? I feel like it will not get resolved since I didn't catch the problem until now. Any advice would be appreciated!
 
I won an HP printer once that would only print in splotchy black ink... although in this case it wasn't defective in the sense that it was supposed to work and didn't; it was just "defective" in that it was a terrible printer (I looked online and many people were having this same problem). Sort of a bummer in that if I had purchased it I could have taken it back to the store for a refund. I was just out of luck after being lucky as it was. Never approached the sponsor about it for obvious reasons. (Also, I'd waited like 6 months before trying to set it up)

Now for a prize that's literally broken? You've really done all you can do after contacting the companies. They'll either replace it or they won't. If they don't you can either let it drop or perhaps complain on their social media pages if you're inclined to do so.

But that printer... how can a printer screw up its only job???!
 
Call the manufacturer as well. It is probably covered under their warrantee and hopefully they will be able to help you even if the contest people can't, or wont because it's been too long.
 
They seem to be helping! I'll know tomorrow for sure once I talk to Amazon and try to get the TV replaced for a new one. Fingers crossed!
