Won a hotel stay, had to decline

Got an email saying I won 3 nights lodging in the Honeymoon Suite at the Wingate Inn in Sheridan, WY and other local dinners and meals and goodies. All in all a nice prize for a vacation stay, but timing is between now and December and unfortunately I can't travel in that time period. First nice vacation prize I've won in about a year but I have to decline. :cry:

This is yet another reason I don't like trip sweeps - between when you enter and when they draw, so many things in your life can change!!!

Here's to hoping they redraw and the new winner can go, and that you win something else to offset this! :sunny:
 
Hi...did you happen to ask if they had a second prize or any other offer to compensate for your not being able to accept? I understand that they sometimes do that. Sorry you had to turn down such a nice trip.
 
So sorry. You are still a winner. Maybe you can talk with the sponsor and they can work something out. Maybe extend the trip deadline? Congratulations
 
Thanks for all the congrats. For some background I'm dealing with a medical issue that came up recently which means no travel plans for anywhere for the near future. I replied back to the sponsor about changing the dates, but they stated that "this" giveaway trip had to be between Aug.-Dec '11. Although they did also say that there would be other future giveaways, so here's hoping I can get lucky again next year.

So sorry about having to lose the prize :cry:. Like Amy says, life changes so much. Trips are hard to plan and when you enter life can be drastically different than when you find out you won. I hope they will work with you!
