Won A Cruise

Was a daily winner of the Norwegian cruise winning a $1000 credit to spend on the cruise.

If anyone has won this and already gone on the cruise, can you let me know how it was
and if a lot of extra money on your part was spent. I don't know yet if I will accept.
I do not know if there will be a surprise of extra expense for us once we go.

Congrats to you!
I haven't won this, but we love sailing Norwegian! You'll have a great time if you decide to go!
Which sweepstakes was this - would definitely like to enter!

I entered once everyday. It is a daily on Sweepsadvantage!

Congrats on your win! I won a cruise years ago that I turned down. It didn't include land excursions which would run $100-200 a day. For a 10 day cruise, that's a lot of money. I had already been to a few of the places, so it wasn't worth it to me.

First off congratulations! You won! It's really up to you whether you accept or not. I guess it depends on whether you're a cruiser or not. I've taken cruises for over 20 years and more recently, in the last five to ten years have used Norwegian. I don't know exactly what to tell you as I don't know your personal experience with cruising, but I always try to pre=pay as much as possible including the gratuities. A good way of mapping it out for you is to go to their website and put in a cruise you wish to purchase and the packages or options you wish to purchase and place it in the cart so that you can see the total costs. Another option is to call Norwegian Cruise Lines and talk to them about it and have them help you. Good luck and enjoy!

Congrats! That is a generous credit. The only thing I would be concerned about is airfare to the ship.

Congrats! I say GO and Have a Good Time. You may never have this opportunity again. If you can't go, see if you can gift the credit or transfer it to someone. It would make a great present or maybe even re-sell it. See our list of Cruise Sweepstakes.

Congrats! I have won 3 cruises. One of them on Norwegian. Personally, I think it's important to know what kind of stateroom you will be in. My Norwegian Cruise win was for an interior stateroom. I upgraded to a balcony. If you don't plan to be in the room a lot, then an interior stateroom may be for you. If you are in the room a lot, you will find that it is very small and there are no windows. I enjoyed my balcony a lot. You may want to purchase excursions, which are things you can do at each island. Some people grab a cab and have the driver give them a tour of the island. It's important to research what there is to do on each island. A $1000 credit is a lot! There are other things you may want to buy, such as a beverage package, or Wi-Fi, or specialty dining that you can use the credit towards. I purchased specialty dining and chose a couple of high-end restaurants. They were really good. So overall, depending on what you want to do, you might have to pay some money if you don't want to stay on the ship the whole time. I just saw that someone said you may have to pay for airfare to the ship if it's not included. That is true. It's recommended that you stay in a hotel the night before in case there is problem with flights. Then you would have to pay for a cab to the cruise terminal.
Have a great time if you go!
What contest was this??

i have taken 111 cruises, did you win a cruise for seven days, and either suite, balcony, outside or inside cabins, or did you win $1,000 to spend on a cruise you have to book and pay for with your own money, plus pay for air to florida , if you are not in florida or within easy driving distance if you only won $1,000 to spend on cruise once you pay for the actual cruise you are looking at a cost of around $3,000 or more depending on the cabin you choose, in other words turn it down

Congrats to you!

It cannot be transferred and did not make it clear what the $1000 could be spent on other than Bar. And I thought that was unlimited drinks free.

It cannot be transferred. I know it may be fun, but the extra expense for us is what I'm concerned about.

I now see the cruise sweepstakes you mentioned. So you won $1000 credit to use on a cruise but you did not win an actual cruise. This will cost you a lot of money, because you will have to pay for the cruise and airfare etc. Plus you may have to pay taxes on the win, depending on your state.
See my other comment above.

PS. I don't know why it says New Member under my name. I have been with this site since it started.
