:sunny: First let me welcome you to SA! Besides reading the following:
you must remain positive, patient and be consistant. If you do those things then you will win. When my friends ask me how to start, I usually tell them to start with the instant wins to get a feel for it. When you feel comfortable doing the instants then start adding the other categories.

dont give up it took me close to year and the I won a car trip and five hundred dollars spending money from the american idol and then i have been winning since then I just won five thousand dollar ring from glamour magazine. and I do a lot of sweeps eveyday
 
I started sweeping for the first time in late March. It was a couple of months before I won anything. I have gradually increased the number of sweeps I enter and I come back here often for advice and tips from more experienced sweepers. I am winning. Not anything big yet but enough to keep me excited. If you really want to do this, you can win, too. Good luck and welcome to sweeping. :sunny:
 
It took me three months of making every mistake under the sun on my own so I suggest reading some postings here and elsewhere about the do's and don'ts. I must say one of the first rules I learned from an experienced sweeper is "Read the Rules!" Simple but I got into a rhythm relearning typing and bam I was doing everything wrong. I later learned things like some contest are one only and some mutiple entry and so forth. I was totally lost. Sweeping has brought purpose and accomplishment back into my life. Hey, before this my favorite past-time was planning my funeral NO Joke! Things can get that bad in a persons life but now I have not won any of the bigger prizes but I still love what I have won. I own an avacado slicer, Now who else has one of those beauties? I even had Christmas presents for both my Grandchildren last year which was not the case for 3 long years. I recently won a geneology book and software from Kellogg's and I plan to chart some kind of family tree for my Grands this year for Christmas. I gotta get started now as I am a slow learner now. After you read the rules a few times it gets to be pretty easy. You just kinda scan them after awhile because some disqualify you for different things and you do not want to do the no no's.
