why does this site have a pop up called Adpeeps?

I never have gotten that...I will post it so Ken can see ~ how many different days have you seen it?

It's spyware so don't download it!!

It's a tracking system for site owners. Shows them where their visitors come from, how long they stay, what they look at, etc.

This is a good time to remind everyone to make sure you have a good spyware program downloaded, and make sure to use it regularly. Just deleting temp files and cookies via tools doesn't get everything or even some things that need to be deleted.

sorry..was having a life off the computer (imagine that! lol)

It showed up about 10 times yesterday,.

I checked my system and there were no spyware or anything type of trojans

and no I would never download anything. I may be male but I'm not THAT dumb (easy girl! lol) :crazytongue:

I just reread your post, gorgor, because I was going to have you PM me the site, and then I realized...you're talking about SA LOL!!

So, that being said I have no idea. I'm not getting any such message.

Do you have a pop-up blocker on your browser and if so, is it turned on? What spyware/malware program are you using? Maybe it's crap and you need me to recommend something different

Adpeeps is our banner rotation software on SA but it does not have the capability to spawn pop ups.

Maybe you can send us a screen capture of what you see when it happens?

Adaware is a good free adware/spyware scanner/remover.

I haven't received any pop ups since what, a couple weeks ago? I would clear your cookies, do some scanning and make sure your software is up to date.

I have been getting them this morning. It happens sometimes. I never thought to ask about it  I just click it close and go about my business.

The only time I get it is when I play the Buick/Tiger Woods IW..it pops up and says "please do not close this window".............I assumed it was spyware so I always close it. It's a tiny window that pops up. I also empty cookies, clean up temp files and run McAfee Security Suite everyday.

As soon as I did a search, that's what I figured it was!!!

Ad Peeps is a banner rotator and text ad rotator - all in one that allows you to sell and manage a variety of image ads, rich-media/flash ads and text ads on your website.

Next time, I will. It asks you to download it in a pop up.

When I was using free spyware programs, I ran both Adaware and Spybot back to back. That seemed to be a popular recommendation on computer forums. Neither program picked up everything on it's own; but using both programs together, one would catch what the other failed to.

That's what Spyware Terminator and SuperAntiSpyware do for me, LIDARKSIDE. What one usually doesn't catch the other one will. SAS is known for picking up trojans BTW if anyone's interested.
