Why do companies keep up sweepstakes forms after the sweeps is over?

It seems like most sweepstakes will get rid of the link completely once the sweeps over or the page will be open but the entry form is gone and it'll have a message like this sweepstakes ended July 1st or whenever.

Then you have some sweepstakes forms that stay up and let you submit even after the sweepstakes has ended per the date in the official rules.

Why? Is it to continue to just drive traffic to the site..does someone just forget to take it down? Is there some reason for this or am I overthinking, lol.

Well, they need to get it together, then, lol....in my early sweepstakes days, I definetely entered sweeps after the rules clearly stated it ended because the form was still up...I dont do that anymore, but it used to be bug me. I'm very lucky to have a life where these are the kind of things that bug me.

Yes, I used to be pretty active on this site...then life, then just sort of fell out of entering sweepstakes except for a few instagram entries here and there, but for some reason I've just felt like getting back into it. The forum has changed but I do recognize some familiar faces and names, like yours....All is well with me, hope you and yours are doing well too!
