Hi everyone, I just don't know what is going on, but just like someone turned off a light switch, I have stopped winning. I really enjoy sweeping, and since I am disabled and can't get out much this is kind of my entertainment. I always tease my husband that it is a poor girls night out. Thank God for SA having this site with all the sweeps. But I just can't seem to hit anything for awhile. I need my winning high. :laughing: Maybe I am silly, but serously, sometimes that is the only fun I get all week, and right now not even getting that. Has any one else noticed a real sudden stop in winnings? Or is it just me that is off right now? O well I shouldn't complain, I know there are people with allot worse trouble, just no fun for me right now and I sure could use something to keep my mind happy. Sorry to whine, but we all have to sometimes. :laughing:
 
tobbymac I am right there with you :laughing: I can't even win that bliss. I guess we just need to wait for that big win. Only bright spot to not wining is I don't have to pay any taxes. Hang in there it can only get better for the both of us.

Same here. Last year I was making frequent trips to the post office to pick up packages. This year has been so DRY it hasn't even been fun trying. My grandmother lived with me for 6 months and I didn't have time to sweep regularly. I blame her for losing my mojo. :cussing:
I am still waiting for a GP. I think my problem is that the little prizes don't amuse me anymore, Coupons, Tshirts, movie tickets, etc...I need a GP for my win fix!

I cannot complain too much, I had a great September; however the last couple of weeks nothing. We just need to hang in there with positive thoughts!
 
I posted almost the same exact thing a few days ago...NOTHING. But after whining I started to win a little, so I'm guessing it's your turn to start winning (and WHINING ALWAYS HELPS!). Sweeping has changed a lot if you ask me...I used to get stuff regularly and now UPS guys comes down my court and just turns around. My mailman used to bring me fun stuff, and not much now. But I've got a good feeling about October.

Hang in there tobby1...you are not a alone. I wish there was a good luck fairy icon that I could send your way!

Random chance is just that - random. Some ideas to distract yourself when the luck gods have turned away.

Try different entries. If you don't do many weeklies or monthlies, look through the old ones that are ongoing. I've won lots of prizes on those (like pretzels or a t-shirt).

Tell yourself that you've already won something, it's just in the mail.

Get caught up in the world of freebies. At least then new stuff will be showing up in your mailbox, even if it's just a sample of toothpaste.

Make online friends to chat or email with - friends are lots of fun too (I was injured after a car accident and really found a lot of enjoyment in the friends I made online).

Enter less. No, really. If you spend less time entering (especially entering only the stuff you really want), you won't feel like you are wasting time and seeing no results, and the prizes you eventually do win will be more exciting.

Visit funny websites between instant entries - like http://cakewrecks.blogspot.com/ - laughter can take the sting out of all of those "sorry" and "soo close" messages!
 
Same here its like my name was taken out nothing no instants and I have tried every kinda sweep there is maybe they will put my name back in (Ha) or I will have to try something else even whinning doesnt help. Sorry but I am getting bored. :cry:

Over the 4 1/2 years I've seen highs and lows and the one thing that keeps me coming back is the "when" factor. :laughing:

I have yet to win big $$$, a car, or a trip {thankfully - I really don't wish to travel since it's so darn hard on my back it would ruin it} but I have won lots of little prizes, a few medium and my prize win - the laptop I'm writing from!!! :headbang:

I remember hitting 3+ times in one day, day after day. But, I also remember going 7 weeks without a win, ended by winning a $700 digital camera!!!

Whenever I go for awhile without a win, I do what annielouise suggests - I focus less on entering. I still enter, I just don't stress it. If it goes for a long time, I'll whine, get it off my chest, then focus on helping out where I can.

That actually works for me - some of my best wins came right after I "got out of my negativity" and helped my fellow sweepers!!! :laughing: :headbang:

So, whine good, get it out, know you AREN'T alone, and shake off the negativity - those wins WILL come!!! :sunny:

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, and Amy really thank you for reminding me it is ok to whine, then lose the negitive. I have had slow times before, this time just really has me down. Might have something to do with the fact my son left three days ago to Afganistan for the big fight. He is in the army. I tend to use sweeping to get lost and forget the real world for awhile. I have never won a big win, some med. but I just love winning. It doesnt take much to make me smile. My husband makes me do a winning dance whenever I win. It is something to see. :laughing: Anyway thanks to all for the kind words and I wish everyone some great wins.
 
You are most welcome tobby1!!! :sunny: I really do swear by it & know most everyone feels like this at one point or another :)

I think it's especially hard on those that have won big in the past so I really do look forward to winning a big one, but kinda sorta don't want to, lol!!! :laughing:

Like you, I sweep for my entertainment, since my disability (s) keep me mostly housebound. I do go out once a week to gamble {before I rediscovered sweeping & I got worse I went out MUCH more often} and if I do well at that, it takes the edge off losing sweeps, and vice versa so the freebie idea is a good one to help take the edge off losing!!!

And I'd LOVE to see your winning dance - it can't possibly look dorkier than mine, lol!!! :cry: :crazytongue: :whistle:

I chair dance - so imagine a 47 yr old, used to be a skinny stick & now carry waaaay too much weight for my back bopping in place :crazytongue: :whistle:

Oh my! that is a scary thought, Guess there is somebody somewhere who will pay for some strange things. But lets not go there. :nono: :laughing: I guess if I never win anymore I could make money that way, But really not my style. Hubby has to harass and whine and carry on to get me to do it here. :laughing:
 
BTW, In the Gripe/Vent forum, there is a sticky for the "sweeps slump club". I started the thread over 2 years ago when I was in a slump.

My best "whining" story was one Halloween Sweepstakes. I was entering instants during trick-or-treating time (try it during the Superbowl and other times folks are busy, too). I whined to my husband that, although I won instants regularly, I never won anything very big (my biggest instant win at the time was a video game). The very next instant I played, I won a portable DVD player! That was something I had always wanted but could never justify the price, so it was a great win for me.
 
Ummmm :scratch: I always wanted to win a new washer and dryer, and a living room furniture. Maybe I could do some major whinning on your thread then maybe I could win it. Never know how it works. :sunny:
 
Well everyone has been so nice to me, thank you all. I did have a real small win tonight. I thank God just to see the win screen for a change. I won an enchanted call in the disney game. Don't have any little ones to give it to, so if one of you nice people would enjoy it send me a pm and post here that you are getting it and I will send the code to you. Thanks for all the good wishes, please keep it up I really need some good winning to pick up my spirts. But I will be good. I know this will pass. at least I sure hope so :laughing:
