What is with UPS!!!!

I just got a visit from my neighbor who had a package from UPS for me! I live in a rural community and I know most of the drivers on this route. They have always left my stuff with my best friend, who lives 4 house down from us since I don't want them trying to drive their big truck down here and getting it hurt on my messed up driveway ( I live in a flood zone so that everytime it rains it washes big potholes in it and it is over 1/4 mile long). I found out that we got a new driver and my BF wrote down my name and address and told him to drop off stuff at her house. Well he didn't and I felt real bad that my other neighbor had to try and make it down here in her little car!!! I also found out that UPS has been returning some of my wins!!!! I got a letter about my granddaughter's win from the Lunchables was returned! No note in my mailbox or anything! They never made an attempt to deliver it!!!! I am here every day except Sundays!!! Wonder how many other things have I lost!!!! I know that some of you that may read this may work for UPS and I don't want to upset you but what can I do! I wrote UPS and told them my concern for their drivers and trucks and they sent me an automated response. They didn't even read the letter I wrote! I told my neighbor to call me next time and I would come and get the package if it happens again. Should I have hubby build a special box for them to stick stuff in??? Since most of the sweeps require your real address I can't put down my BF's addy!!! Thank goodness FedEx doesn't do this to me!!! (so far as I know!)

Thats no cool. :cussing: If you build a special box will they use it? Try sending them another letter.I think they send a automated response so ya know they got it. they should send you another one. It may take a while though. Its their job to deliver packages. They should deliver it. I think most drivers are really good. but there are a few that should be doing something else. I hope ya can get it worked out. Do you keep a record of your wins? I would go thru and see what you are still waiting on and if its been awhile and have not received it try contacting the sponsor to see if they sent it already. that wont help for surprise wins though. keeps us posted.

Yes, I keep a record of my wins but it is those little suprise ones that I think I could be missing. I use to get something on an average of about 1-2 a week and it got to be a kind of a joke that the I had so many packages. Now for the past 6 months, nothing except by FedEx or postal. Thinking about the box thing though..... it would have to sit up by the road and I can't see it. I have had my mail stolen so many times I can't even count! One year they stole my daughter's Xmas card from my father in which he had put a check in it. I got the card 2 months later in my box, opened of course and the check was gone! Who ever did it never cashed it thank goodness. Oh well I guess I will just have to contact UPS again and see what they can do but this time I will go to the office in person! Thanks 3mnkids1 for the response!

I'm not sure what it is with UPS lately. It seems like our guy doesn't even try anymore. I'd swear he's got the "Tried To Deliver" tags written up before he ever leaves the truck. I sat in my kitchen one day with my brother and barely caught the driver out of the corner of my eye sticking the note on the door. The front door is maybe 10 feet from the kitchen. There was no way he could have knocked or rang the bell without us noticing. I understand those guys are usually very busy and want to keep moving but there's really no excuse for doing things like that.

OMG!!! Can you believe this!!!! I got a call last night about 7:30 from my best friend who is suppose to get my packages delivered to her house. She had gotten a call from the gas station that she works at and UPS had left my packages there!!!!!!!! They claim they couldn't find either of our places!!!!! Come on!!!! She lives right on the highway and has big numbers on her mailbox!!!! This is bull!!!!!!!!!! I had to get my future daughter-in-law to go get them with me!!!!! It was the commit car and the american idol game! I think by writing UPS it just made them mad and now they don't give a dang where they leave my stuff! I am going to contact the companies that shipped this stuff and tell them what a "wonderful job" UPS is doing with their stuff!!! What is next??? Are they going to start throwing my stuff into the nearest dumpster!!!!! :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

I totally sympathize with you! Don't write UPS though, call the local branch number and ask to speak to the manager or route supervisor. I had a similar problem right at Christmas time a few years ago. Our house is at the end of a cul-de-sac and can be a little hard to see the driveway and mailbox due to having alot of trees and bushes. Considering that we have the only wooded patch for miles and my property is loaded with critters, including deer, foxes, and many reptiles, we do not want to trim stuff back too much, the critters have nowhere else to go!! Anyway, UPS had new or extra drivers for the holidays, and one who I would gleefully strangle with my own bare hands marked all my packages as "MOVED", and never even came to the house!!! I won't even go into details about what havoc that caused!!!!

One call to UPS was all it took to fix that, when I explained the situation, she got detailed info from me on where we were and it hasn't happened since. I would have liked to have heard that they at least bawled out who did it, but oh well. It's not like they pay the drivers anywhere near what they should. Around here, the cheapest rent you can find on a 1 bedroom crapola apt is $1200 a month, utilities NOT included (DC metro area sucks). They pay the drivers here just over $12 an hour to start. WTF?? That is INSANE!!! It's really sad that anyone has to do that hard a job for those slave wages.
