Okay...I am needing to make up my mind on vacations and need some help from my fellow SA members! The only vacation that we could get this year that the kids can go on is during Christmas break...SO I am wanting to go somewhere warm. I have been thinking about a cruise, South Florida (Miami, The Keys...anywhere where it is warm), or an all inclusive resort. Would love to some other ideas or thoughts on any of these. Would love to have personal experiences and links so I can get info:) I have spent all morning looking for stuff. Thanks guys!

:sunny: At least you have lots of time to make up your mind! We love all inclusives. You can eat and drink all you want without dragging your wallet out. We do however get lots of small bills to give to waiters as they serve us to keep them coming back! Perhaps have the kids research it and come up with ideas for the family to vote on. I'm sure you will have a great time no matter where you decide to go.

We go every January into February to Kissimmee, Fl for about 17/18 days. We stay at the Best Western Lakeside at 50% off their rack rates with our Entertainment.com membership. We get everything discounted while there, so this is the cheapest route for us.

LDS ~ how are the temps about that time there? I actually have been there in October and it was still really nice, but a friend of mine went down a couple of years ago in December and said she almost froze...what is your experiences?

Pam ~ the only thing about waiting to long is if we decide to go on a cruise and need to get passports I need to get on it...I would LOVE to go on a cruise up through St. Thomas and St. Lucia....BUT convincing everyone else may be a problem :crazytongue:

The last two years, the first few days were cool. Two years ago, the first few days we had to wear winter jackets. However, overall, we find this the perfect time of year to go. The temps average in the '70's (usually upper '60's into low '80's), very low humidity, and no crowds (except for more on the weekends). We did one park every two or three days during the weekdays only and vegged, relaxed, and did little things in between the other days. We usually head down no earlier than mid-January as there are still crowds there from the Christmas and New Years vacation up to one week or so after New Years Eve. There is obvious climate change through the years/decades from the earth cycling--up North here it's been getting warmer and down South cooler. In July, our temps have actually been about the same or near same as Florida's. Watch, when we move there, it will start snowing there!LOL

Ping, cruises are great. I've only been on a couple but my son loves it. He's seventeen now and he doesn't want to go anywhere with me unless it's a cruise. When we went the first time he was about eleven, then Andrew and I went on one a couple years later, he would have been about twelve or thirteen, by ourselves. The shows and activities on the boats are great. :sunny: My friend just went to get a passport about two to three weeks ago and already got it back, but I would still say to make sure you have plenty of time. When I got mine the first time there was a mistake on it and I had to send it back and almost didn't get it back in time. Cruises are great but your other choices sound good too. Oh, we went to sanibel and captiva island several years ago and they are really nice too. People were really friendly. Have a great time whatever you choose. :sunny:
