I was just wondering if the recent SA upgrade was done out of necessity (like a server upgrade) or just because it was felt a change was needed.I am asking only because I liked the way the site worked prior to the changes.The forums were easier to read,there was no spam in the winners circle, and replies to posts got sent to my email. I know there still are probably some kinks that need working out, and we just need to adapt to change,but I really liked it the old way MUCH BETTER! Just my opinion...I'm still here,of course!

It was done out of necessity. The old forum had major security problems and caused us to get labeled as a infected site by Google last year.
What about the old forums were easier to read?
We are working on the spam problem and delete any spam as soon as it is noticed. ( usually within the hour ) . We are experimenting with some plugins to help prevent the spam
before it happens.
If you are not getting email from threads you are probably not using the subscribed threads correctly. Please check out the FAQ link at the top of the forum regarding this.

I think just the way they were formatted.It seemed bolder to this blue highlighting. I have the email for private messages and from ANYONE checked.Either way..I will still be here for another 20 years or until I win the lottery! Thanks for answering my question..I had a feeling it was out of necessity.Thanks for an awesome site!

Ken there are two things that bother me about the new forumn. First the listings will not stay on show last post posted. I will set it that way then read one post and it reset to last thread started. This means I will sometimes miss a reply to an earlier post.
The second is I really miss the link to replies to your post.
However this is still the best sweepstakes site I have found in my over thirty years of doing sweepstakes.

The default on the forum is "show by thread start time" - "beginning" . If you want something different from this to be your default you have to set it here under "thread display options" :

I don't think I understand the second point. You can't reply to a post?
You can reply within a Post and Outside the post. You can even reply with quote on a single post. Look for the little "reply" link near the bottom of
the post.

Bruce - top right, under THREAD TOOLS select SUBSCRIBE TO THIS THREAD where you can choose Notification Type:
Select how to be notified of updates. You can choose to only display the subscription in your control panel, or have updates emailed to you.
You can also subscribe to individual forums.
