Trying to go green? Companies are being deceptive. This is a must-read.

Doesn't surprise me in the least. lying is the American way. At least the corporate way. They can get away with it because most people don't bother to do their own research.. they just assume that if it says its green..well then it must be right? surely they couldn't say it was if it wasn't true? :nono:

Sadly, this does seem to be the norm. I was also greatly dismayed to learn that there is no one in government checking on cosmetics and personal care items to make sure they are safe, either. They do not even check them for poisons. There are some laws, but they are completely unenforced. Many of the independent studies I have seen on that subject found that the more expensive cosmetics seemed to have the highest concentrations of lead and other nasties... Things are so out of control...

I really just think a majority of this "go green" crud is basically a get rich scheme some companies have going. I am trying to do more "green" things but, I'm not going to go out and buy products just because, they say it's good for the environment, I really don't see how some of them are anyways.
