Totally different sweep world these days!

My gripe for the day, and then I'm going to shut up and get back to entering. I took many years off sweeping because I burned out, even though I was winning mega prizes. I was use to winning something, even if nothing more than a candy bar, several times a week. Fast forward to last month when I decided to start sweeping again. Uhmm, where are all the instant sweeps? I use to have a minimum of 4 pages, and now I've yet to have more than one! Ok, well, maybe it's just the timing, I think to myself. Then I start hitting the dailies. OMG, seriously, what's up with the tweeting, twitting, twattering, facing, tagging, tugging, instagraming, pinning, poking, flickering, friending, googling, influencing, spotifying, stumbling, tumbling, and yelping????? A sweep that use to take me 2 seconds to enter now takes 10 minutes to enter, and you are expected to do it freaking daily!!!! I know I'm old now, but good grief, social media has ruined sweeping AFAIC. If you're going to make me jump through hoops to enter your sweep, the prize better be more than a 50 dollar GC. I have a litte less than a 100 dailies right now, but hope that number will go up with adding more as time goes by.

Oh, and the referral request. My social media accounts have very few friends. I just don't use them except for sweeps. So I figure I'm never going to win when they want the referrals.

Does anyone remember the days of inky? Or remember the biggest fuss was trying to type those stupid capcha characters and never getting them right?

I miss the good old days.

I hate getting old.

I've turned into my mother.

*SIGH*

LOL!! I hear ya!! I thought it was just me being whiny....... I do get excited when I get a candy bar, so I only get excited about once a month or so . Really missing the old days.... I am not on facebook , or twitter or instagram so you know how very few I am entering these days. Must have to start a new hobby

Ah yes sugar22 - I too miss good old inky & darn it all janky :p

I was so sure we would no longer see big/huge prizes when the recession hit, but I'm glad to say that prediction was all wrong!

Unfortunately, my prediction that Facebook & Twitter would explode was correct

As to cyclical? Yes, very - each year it does seem to be fewer overall promos offered then along come Summer & Winter where we get a plethora of promos to enter, then it goes somewhat dead in the Spring & the Fall again, rinse, repeat, ad nauseam

I’m right there with you. I started back in 2011 and basically entered IWs only. About 90 - 100 a day. I probably averaged a win every other day and won about $6000 worth of cash and prizes in my first year. Now, I’m down to about 20 IWs a day and it seems like I’m lucky to get a win a month - and they’re usually not very big. I mean, now they call a discount off a purchase a prize? I DON’T share, tweet, follow etc. either. I probably wouldn’t have ANY friends left if I did! In that respect, I think my chances are greatly reduced, unless I’m wrong about how many people actually DO share, tweet and follow. I have seriously been considering giving this hobby up due to the time it takes to jump through the hoops to enter, not to mention the time it takes to go through all the BS emails generated by entering. That’s another gripe. Now, when you enter, you’re signing up to get anywhere from 1 to 10 emails from all the associated sponsors - and some are sending multiple emails PER DAY! OK, I’m done. Soon, maybe with sweeping also.

Do any of you remember your 1st sweepstakes win??? ... I think we all remember our first win! I know I do!!! [TABLE="class: content postContainer, width: 100%"]

[TD="class: message"]Oh how I remember, my first sweepstakes win and the sweepstakes addition that followed. It was way back in 2004. I was laid off from my job, for two weeks. I was online job searching and accidently brought up something in my browser, not even related to work. It was a site called EZ sweeps (No longer active) It would be the beginning to my sweepstakes addiction and obsession. This site was almost obsolete, not many sweepstakes sites. back then. My curiosity got the best of me and I entered only two sweeps, that day. One was a Monopoly game for McDonalds and the other was a Anheuser Busch Bacardi Silver Sweepstakes, one entry, there were three prizes... 3 pimped out cars (when pimp my ride was so popular!) I only entered those two sweeps, forgot about my encounter with EZ sweeps and went about my business. Two weeks later I got a call from my daughter that I had recieved an overnight envolope from Fed Ex, she told me I had won something big. I thought it was a scam... I told her to throw it away. Well she didn't. I had actually won the grand prize... a Pimped out '66 Chevy Impala or $50,000 cash option. They wired $50,000 into my bank account 2 weeks before Christmas, that year. Unfortunately I took the cash. I can't even imagine what that car would be worth today... makes me sick thinking about it, though. Hahaha!!! I have been a sweeper ever since. I do have to say, the past few years I haven't been sweeping as much. I started to become depressed... I couldn't even win a coupon. Sweeping today is different than, then. Sweeping wasn't really a hobby back then. There are too too many people sweeping now... the odds of winning are rediculous now. I will always sweep... but I will never put that many hours into it, again. Keep sweeping , winning and have fun!!!

I miss the good days when it was all form filling with my robo form. Dailys, instant wins, and one entry. Blog entries were new and easy to win. I took a break and now I am back to this craziness. I do not like all these "one entry" where you have to subscribe to 15 emails, like 10 facebook profiles, re tweet, bla bla bla. lol.

My only goal right now is to win the honey nut cheerios iw game. I just want to see what happens on the screen when you win. Oh that one and the nintendo sweepstakes one.

I can't complain though, the coca cola instant wins were very good to me.
