Tip: Easy trick to avoid having to watch full videos before sweeps form comes up

The following link is to a sweepstakes that requires you to watch at least one video IN FULL before the sweepstakes form pops up and
you can enter your information. The problem is that it is a DAILY sweeps - why on earth would I watch the same video every day??

The good news is that if after you click on the video you see a status bar with the total time of the video to the far right, you should be able to simply click on that bar about 3-5 seconds before the end which will cause the video to begin near the end and then the form pops up - problem solved.

Some sweeps will display videos in such a format that you MUST play the entire video (which sucks for us - lol), and I believe it's Chevy or ford sweepstakes that offers a sweeps from time to time that gives you one entry for each full video you watch and there's anywhere from 5 to 10 videos - ouch! The way I deal with these, in Firefox anyhow, is to open the sweepstakes link in a separate Window (not in a Tab in an already open Window - this is important), then I minimize the window and click on each video - this makes the sweepstakes 'think' you're watching the video whereas it doesn't always work if you do not minimize it - YMMV. I then go to another Window and continue entering other sweepstakes while the video drones on and on with the volume muted. I then check periodically to see if the video is done and then either enter the sweeps or click on another video and continue going about my other business.

I certainly understand why companies want us to watch the videos and sometimes I do, but only when I'm actually interested in the product - most times I'm honestly not and don't want to spend my time watching commercials - that's why I have a DVR at home so I don't have to!!!

P.S. I know the veterans out there already have figured this out but am posting this for people who are newer to the 'game'. :-)

If you come across a Flash video (Ford, I'm looking at you!) you can start the video, then press the "9" key and skip to 90% through the video. At least you only have to watch the last 10% that way! :)
