The Sweepstakes Rabbithole

Hey everyone!

I just started sweeping this week and I was curious. Oftentimes when you sign up for one sweepstakes found on this site you are taken to another site that has all kinds of flashy fun advertisements for additional sweeps and prizes.

I was curious, do many of you take advantage of those as well or just stick to those found here on the site? I ask because many of these sites seem fairly spammy and potentially untrustworthy, but I don't want to miss out if they are particularly legitimate (Maxwells Attic, the Royal Draw, Whole Mom and Prize Grab come immediately to mind.)

Thanks so much for any input!

I only enter the ones that I "log into " no secondary site ones. I was burned on a virus once and made me gun shy

Adding to what mswolfe said, I figure, if those other sweeps you see are good, bona fide sweeps, you will probably find them on SA also, and if you enter through SA you can keep track of them in your My Sweeps so you don't duplicate your entries.

As you gain experience, you'll recognize those sweeps that are questionable. I'd concentrate on learning from the sweeps that you find posted at SA. It's always a good idea to read (skim) the rules and privacy policy. Always keep in mind that if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. You'll find there's a steep learning curve, after which you'll be more comfortable branching out with other sweeps you may find.

If you haven't already, look into downloading and using one of the form fillers that are available - Google "form filler software" to find them. Dashlane and Roboform are two that are frequently used. Here's a link to the Roboform license agreement - RoboForm License and Terms of Use - it's free if you're non-profit and limit your Logins (passcards) to 10. See 1A, Exceptions in the agreement. Form fillers will fill out the sweepstakes entry form for you and save time. I use the passcards only for sites like SA, my email and similar sites. I find that I don't need a passcard for a sweepstakes as Robo will still fill out the entry form. Proof read - the form fillers aren't infallible. You'll need to correct any mistakes they make - zip or phone in the wrong field - first name used twice & no last name, etc. Mistakes are rare, but they do happen. I understand that Robo memorizes your corrections if you use the paid version with a passcard for each sweep, so any subsequent entries in the sweep won't have the same mistakes. That doesn't happen with the free version.

Welcome aboard.
