Tattoo anyone

So I decided to get a tattoo for my 50th birthday this year. I am really happy with it. It's a rose with vine around my ankle. I gota tell ya'll it was pretty painful at certain spots on my leg. The guy says oh it feels like a bee sting. More like a wasp yeah LOL.

This is something I decided to do when I told myself I work out a lot as a small reward.

In Louisiana and I don't have a camera. I really like the tattoo though. I don't know why I waited so long.

Congrats to you on your tattoo.
I have had one for over 30 years.

Congrats on your tattoo. I got mine a few years back. It was a cute little yellow smiley face tattoo on my left shoulder blade. I really liked it for about a month and then I realized it looked exactley like the Wal-Mart smiley. I figured I was not getting paid to advertise for them so what should I do about it. I had a great solution, I went back and had a little outfit added to it. So now my smiley is a smiley but he is wearing the grim reapers suit and a little sickle, its cute though not scary and I no longer look like a Wal-Mart ad.

 your story made me laugh. I bet it's cute now. I wanted to get a couple doves with my hubby's name and mine in each one but the shop said no because it would be a curse. I may get one more tattoo with my girls initials in a dove on my inner wrist.

Ya did say you were 50? Right???

What model Harley did you say you have? Better watch out ... soon the grandkids will be asking: "Granny what carnival did you work in? Did you run the Zipper ride?" or "Can we see your body piercings, G'ma?"

PS: it turns into an Emu due to gravity ... long neck, long legs, long body.

You must be a sucker for pain, choosing some of the most painful places to get tattooed.

I have barbed wire on my upper right arm. I'm planning on getting a big one on my lower back with hearts and chains with the names of my children in the hearts. Hubby has a bunch including a banner in barbed wire with my name on it across his upper chest.

If you want to get one with your husband's name, go for it. I never heard of a tattoo shop refusing to do them due to some superstition.

Indeedy. My friend Tanya is still walking around with half a dragon on her ankle because it hurt too bad to finish. Of course, when DH was getting his one tattoo he said he wanted to stop them but he would've been stuck with "The" instead of "Thelema"
Cin really should've been a Marine! :)

 Havn't you heard 50 is the new 30 and if it makes a person feel good I say go for it. Actually I did get a belly button piercingg at 40 because I worked out hard enough and got a flat stomach. DH rides a bike but not a Harley. Yep we're a real wild family.

I know. My youngest daughter told me that the ankle was the most painful spot but I wanted to show it off so I said I'd do it.

The shop really didn't refuse to do it but they talked me out of it. Your tattoo sounds great.

 I bet I would have been a good marine. I knew if I was going to do it I was sticking with finishing it.

A tattoo discussion and CelticBikerBabe isn't here? She has some pretty ornate work on her back and has posted pix in earlier threads. Victoria, where are you?
