Sweepstakes Saved my life..

I won the Blockbuster Race Car sweepstakes a few months back. The prize was a $3,500 gift certificate for driving lessons and a $1,500 Visa Card.

There was some snag with awarding the prizes, and I so far only got the lesson certificate. The day we got it we were told our lease wasn't being renewed on our apartment and we had 28 days to find a new place to live. We are broke...

Luckily we were able to sell the certificate on eBay. It was just enough money to pay for a first moth rent and security on the new place.

I'm still waiting on the other half of the prize, and that looks like it's coming tomorrow. Just in time to pay for the movers and little things you always need in a new place.

Without this win, I don't think my husband and I could have managed a quick move like this.

Sweepstakes saved us from being homeless.
 
:cheers: That's wonderful! Although the driving lessons would have been fun, you have to have a roof over your head! Glad to hear that it all worked out for you. Hope you received the rest of your prize soon!
 
Congrats to you and your husband. Glad to see that someone won a nice prize that could really use it. It's great that you were able to sell it on eBay also since driving lessons aren't probably that easy to sell there. Hope your other prize comes in soon as well as many more!!!

The Visa showed up and we are using that for moving costs. This sweepstakes really did save us. God is good! :sunny:
