Strange phone call

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten a phone call like this. The number came up unknown caller on my caller I.D., when I answered it this is all I heard"This Call is being placed to validate the phone number. Thank you"
Too weird
 
yeah,that does sound odd...i have had unknown numbers call,and when i answer,i get put on hold.......i just hang up!
 
Do you do surveys and product tests? It could be related to that possibly, if you do. I know they randomly choose participants to verify.

However, I have never received a call like that either, so that is just a guess... :scratch:
