I have a friend, my closest friend in fact, who is always forwarding me emails that I hate. I hate them! :cussing: We are on opposites sides politically and its never been a problem really we just dont talk politics but the emails are starting to really tick me off. I dont send her stuff and she needs to stop it. :cussing: Its really damaging our friendship.

I am so sorry to hear that but don't let it destroy your friendship. Tell her to stop... you respect her right to her own opinion and you don't try to convert her to yours so you deserve the same consideration!

I had a friend do the same thing to me during the election, he also would send every urban legend forward under the sun... drove me nuts! (BTW: this is a good one to send to people who forward without checking if what they are sending is true. It's an email called the Gullibility Virus ~ http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/blvirus.htm )

This message is so important, we're sending it anonymously! Forward it to all your friends right away! Don't think about it! This is not a chain letter! This story is true! Don't check it out! This story is so timely, there is no date on it! This story is so important, we're using lots of exclamation points! Lots!! For every message you forward to some unsuspecting person, the Home for the Hopelessly Gullible will donate ten cents to itself. (If you wonder how the Home will know you are forwarding these messages all over creation, you're obviously thinking too much.)

I finally asked him to stop and thankfully he did.

Good Luck!

I think we all have that one or two people that fwd everything. Mine unfortunately is my Mom. I taught her how to use a computer about 2 years ago. Now I can't convince her that I don't need everything she gets and that most of those fwds are extremely annoying! I just go through them and hit delete! Can't argue with Mom....

My mother in law is big on the "send to ten of your friends within the next five minutes and your wish will come true" variety. I also get a lot of "kids say the darnedest things" emails. I just delete the junkers and figure it's a good thing that my mother in law wants to share stuff with me!

Im going to think of a way to politely ask that she stop. I will need to give it some time because im not feeling to polite right now

Those I could handle. She sends me jokes and stuff too which I like. I have a problem with racist emails. I dont find them funny and she knows it.

when you first get a computer you do go through 'that phase' of sending everything to everyone ~ lol...I did. Now I send out very little. Very few forward emails, I don't mind getting them, but I hate to send them to people when I don't know how to fix them and send them off with just my name on them. I have to think it is really funny.

I watch my friends do the same things and watch it die off after a few months to a year...hopefully you will find someway to keep the peace ~ I know about those friends that won't listen though...

Oh, wow, during the election some members of my family thought it was their duty to save me from myself. They sent me tons of really outlandish hogwash about my favorite candidate (I bet you can't guess who) and got upset at me when I didn't buy into it. I was glad when the voting was over so the emails would stop.
I guess it was better than being harrassed on the phone, though.

The last person to send me forwarded emails (back in the 90's) was in her 80's and dying of ovarian cancer. And I taught her to cut and paste so it was all my fault
Mary-Anne is dead now and I kind of miss her "what's new at Snopes daily updates". She meant well.
