"Star Trek" Lives On!!!

The new "Star Trek" movie is:

Wonderful :sunny: Awesome :sunny: Great :sunny:

I have been a Star Trek fan since the first TV episode in September 1966! My two boys were brought up on Star Trek - where ever we went (Kansas, Georgia, Texas, South Korea, Germany), re-runs of Star Trek were on TV, and we watched them religiously. We were in West Germany when the first movie came out in 1979 - it was truly awful, but we said, "It was better than no Star Trek at all!"

This new Star Trek has got everything - camarderie between the characters; humor; action; pathos; etc. Actor Karl Urban as Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy is REALLY hot!!!!

Somewhere out in the stars, Gene Roddenberry is smiling, because J.J. Abrams inherited his vision. Hats off the Abrams et al.

I've seen it two times already - the first time at a "regular" theater, but the second time (on Mother's Day, with both of my boys) at an IMAX theater.

I'm going to go a third time, and a fourth time.....I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!

Re: "Star Trek" Lives On!!!

I used to watch Star Trek when I was young and of course I loved Kirk. I have all the movies and I do watch them occassionally. I will wait for this one to come out on DVD because I'm too cheap to go to the theatre. Glad to hear everyone likes this one.

I agree. I loved it. it has a great cast. My favorite of course is simon pegg as scotty.

I love "Trek" too; TOS is my favorite show ever! I haven't seen the movie yet, and know it's gonna be hard to accept these new faces in familiar roles. Change, however, is inevitable.

Hi Sweepyhead!

Between TOS and this new Star Trek movie, the only actor/character that I had trouble "accepting" was James Tiberius Kirk. The actor playing him (Pine?) doesn't look like a younger Kirk/Shatner, at least to me. But, just at the end of the new movie, Pine swaggered like Shatner.

All the other actors looked like a younger version of the characters they play, and had the same mannerisms, accent, you name it!

And, when you see it, tell me that Karl Ubran as Dr. Leonard McCoy isn't hot, hot, hot!!!! :crazytongue: I'm absolutely crazy about Bones McCoy/Karl Urban!!!!
