Snotty sponsor

I got an email from Babbleandbeat.com telling me I entered twice and I am now disqualified. They took time out of their day to tell me this.

I told them I didn't get an entry confirmation so I clicked submit twice. I also said that I'll not visit their site or enter their contests again.

Don't you think that sending a nasty disqualification email to site visitors is a stupid idea? There are so many thousands of sites and contests out there, I can't even visit them all. :error:

I got a response to my mini rant. The sponsor looks down on people who visit from a sweeps site. Not so good p.r. Oops!

We are getting a bad rap in articles lately. Like yeah they want, the first timer to pick up an add and enter to win it. They want people already purchasing their product I think. Well they must understand that now over half my purchases are sweeps related. I cannot help it. When I send for grocery items or anything first thing I put on the list now instead of soy sauce is Kikkoman Soy Sauce. I won a spoon rest. It makes a difference.
I read an article from Contest Queen newsletter where the writer said Old people are sitting home winning with roboform. Like this is bad??? I wrote her back, the journalist and explained in nice way that robo just made it easier for arthritic hands and rheaumatoid hands to have a chance at all. I have bought enough Kleenex and I got a lot to cry about to pay for the camera I won and I still love Kleenex. That was two years ago.

I've been kinda worried about this so when it asks where did you hear about this contest I say a friend. I'm not really lying since I do consider SA members to be my friends. But on some of the daily that run forever it would almost be kinda nice to know if I was disqualified instead of entering every day for months with them just deleting it. But they definitely don't need to be snotty about it! Happy sweeping!!

I know, it's a very stupid misconception that people who enter sweepstakes are of no value to the advertiser. Sweepstakers are consumers!

Last week, as an example, I purchased over $100 worth of quality flatware from Macy's online. I used a discount code I got in my email when making the purchase. I got signed up to the email as a result of a sweeps I had entered.

The country's biggest companies are constantly running sweeps. It's not like they're stupid or something.

ya know I was posting about I forget and sometimes enter twice, a one time only sweeps alot, and I accidently get disqualified when I was doing bout 200 a day (wow I know this aint much to most but it was to me) and someone scolded me that contest go to long measures to make sure nobody gets disqualified and just count the first entry. It's in the rules for some contest also that you get a call. It says A call. Some are not clear and I just know i missed some nice ones because I never get out of state calls being on a do not call list and then when I see Birdsboro Pa I missed it. It was the sponsor's home for a mail in I was doing a few here and there. I love to decorate. It's arts and crafts for me. So in every contest I try to read some of the rules if I am gonna add them to my 25 a day list. ROFL I am amazed if I win anything cause the odds are not with me now. Sorry sweepyhead I feel your pain.

I'm shocked they said that, think I'll skip their site. I may enter for a prize and then get newsletters from various sites that I end up reading all the time. Isn't that their point, to get new readers? I've been a musician for over 35 years, professional too and may refer my musician friends to interesting articles. And as far as products, entering contests definitely changes the way I shop. Not only with the name brands but with smaller businesses too. I think not only does the contests make you aware of their products but the sweeps build a kind of camaraderie and trust with that business.

Oh, and another note, being a web site owner myself I know that the more "hits" you get the more likely you come up on search engines, probably one reason for daily entries. :) Visits to these sites boost their rating, so that helps them even if we don't order something that day.

Also if the site has advertising ads they put where you almost certainly hit alot cause of where they are, they used to get paid for that. They are getting paid enough usually to pay for the prize. It used to be a nickel way back for each ad clicked, I cant imagine what they get paid now. Sheesh. Like if I could build a website today I would be rich doing tons of add on my 100 CG. Think about it. Looks down on sweepsites ROFL where we suppose to find em. OH today I never heard of the place and I just mosied on over and accidently put in the name and found it or go websurfing for it WOW the Nigerians love that one and your pute is full of viruses. I made half the contest mad because I used to write them in protest that hey nobody wins from my state and they rarely do and other issues. I learned but I am willing to hop this one with my flaming emails if ya got a contact address. I feel rowdy tonight. Then again we all should sweepyhead let them have a blast of sweepers clogging their emails. But nobody has any fight anymore or we wouldnt be in a war. Its in the water. Thats estrogen for you and birth control pills polluting it. More peaceful populace.Rich control us easier. LOL I read where fish are having male and female systems now in rivers and lakes. OH stop hand nite all.
