Sketchy Websites and Promotions

There seems to be a lot of sketchy promotions posted on this website lately. Yesterday there was one posted in the instant win section that is really a come on for you to open a brokerage account in order to sell you stocks and harvest your information.

Also, yesterday, I clicked on a one time entry only to first being sent to a bizrate site before being sent to the correct webpage in order to enter the sweepstakes. Who knows how many tracking cookies were placed on my computer. Real shoddy. This is not the first time I have been redirected to a website other than the sweepstakes websites by clicking on a link here. You are losing the trust of your visitors, operators of Sweepstakes Advantage.

I hope, that in the future, Sweepstakes Advantage returns to the helpful and trusted website that it used to be and stops redirecting unwary people to destinations other than where they wanted to go.

arnold_ziffel - SA is available for free *because* of sponsors & sponsors regularly utilize what I call "bounceback" links [track back codes used to track stats with Google Analytics] so they can track from where an entrant found their promo & are frequently bumped up to catch more views.

SA/SP [are] a sweeps listing service/aggregator business & to stay in business they need PLUS subscribers & ad revenue & because ads tanked in the 2008 recession & never recovered to former levels & this pandemic has dealt another blow it's been a tough time

SA has a strict policy to Not use Referral links for Entries. It does use tracking links to measure traffic for current and potential advertising clients Only. This is solely done to measure advertising effectiveness and it is not for entries.

ALSO - Ken [site owner/admin] has previously stated:

"Question: Does SA use referral links to gain entries for sweepstakes?

btw - bizrate is a legit site that I and *many* others have won from

Amy, thank you for that thorough explanation. I sometimes find a sweep that just asks too many questions, etc and I decide to "bail." Personal choice. I must say, though, that as a Plus member, I don't find too many that I find "sketchy," if I may use that word loosely.
