Seriously think Ive been blacklisted

Hey everyone! Ive been MIA from the boards for a LONNNNNG time--life has been so busy. Ive still managed to find time to enter contests but Im starting to get a little irritated that NOTHING is happening. I used to be one of those people that everyone was amazed by because I won stuff all the time, and not just coupons for things :) So far this year Ive had 6 wins (all of them movie tix so certainly no big ticket items) and the last win was almost 3 months ago!!! Im entering just as much as I used to so I cant figure it out. All I know is that my mailbox is empty empty empty. I know that wins ebb and flow, its all about timing, entering and forgetting, etc....but this is seriously the dryest year Ive EVER had in all my years of sweeping. Are sponsors not giving out as much stuff these days? Anyone else experiencing this all time low in prize winning besides me? Im starting to get a complex!! Whining has helped in the past, so I thought Id return to the boards and cry for a bit, see if that makes a difference before I give up entirely. :)

Yes!! Your description fits me very well. I have been trying extra hard lately, except that I don't do facebook, twitter, pinterest, so that excludes me from many possible wins.

I know I am more selective with the dailies and one entries I choose to enter, so again, that also accounts for some of my lack of winning. Both of these things - not doing social networking and being selective - are on my end. I can't attribute my lack of winning to sponsors, but it is noticeable and often discouraging.

Maybe entries have increased astronomically, with information spreading fast on facebook, which is good for sponsors, I suppose.

You say, " Im entering just as much as I used to so I cant figure it out." Maybe there is more than one answer. I don't know...If the sweeping landscape has changed, maybe there are things you can do to change your approach (but I don't know what they are). :confused:

I can't believe this! After replying, I just entered one of my few IWs and won a $200 GC from Coors Light Silver Seats - my biggest win this year. OK, so don't give up yet!

Your rant mirrors my own. Use to win wonderful big things! This year nothing much. I also began thinking got my email put on a blacklist some how. However, I have been so busy the last couple of years . . . I have to honestly admit that I enter much less then I use too! Best of Luck to All.

Maybe posting here will bring you luck! The day I posted I won the GC, and the following day I received a really nice white/gold trim iPhone 5 cover [$49.95] (surprise win, not sure where it is from, nothing else in the envelope).

Funny thing is, I never posted in the whiner's wall but I find it amusing and intriguing that quite a few people who post there win soon afterwards.

Hope troisanges also wins something good soon!

I certainly know the feeling about being in a slump. Altho I have never won anything big, still hoping, lately I haven't won anything. Had to get a new computer this summer and since we hate each other, it's getting even with me by jinxing me I think. ha Oh well, I'll try a little while longer then hang it up for a while.
I did say I hadn't won anything big but I'm thinking that if I ever did I probably wouldn't be able to enjoy it since I'd have a heart attack from the total shock.

Good evening! I must have been blacklisted with you! I had to have been blacklisted from the very start. I've sweeped almost everything I could find for well over a decade (close to a decade and a half now) I do facebook and twitter too. I've never won what would be considered a grand prize. Never even close. While I am grateful for all the coupons and small wins (stuff under $50) even that has been just pitiful thin over the last few years. I'm also incredibly frustrated and discouraged. I'm weary of working multiple jobs all of these years and angry the graduate degree did nothing but get me into more debt (sorry for the tangent). I feel desperate about the upcoming holidays. I've got a 7 year old that, if I can't win something, will have to learn the hard way that there is no Santa. (I've actually been trying to prep her for it.) So that's my big whine. I'll continue to congratulate those who are lucky enough to win and tell myself they needed it more. j

This is getting terrible! I haven't really won anything in the last 2 years, except shoe polish in a trial packaging & a small package of candy every 3 months. Everything else appears to be a paid online ad. I certainly haven't seen anyone jumping up & down winning. Example: "It's a Glam thing" posts its winners monthly & has "New" monthly sweeps, but did you ever notice no winners since August? Must be their way of advertising items for sale and not really sweeps. Another thing, instant wins used to show your chances perse 1000 people per try, you don't see these anymore. Some "spin the wheel" games if you watch the wheel go round & round, its set up not to change its position, or the wheels don't spin at un-even times anymore. Another gimmick is like which door did the prize in? I highlighted the card & it tracked where it "supposedly went". I clicked on that door & of course there was no winner. If there's 4 doors, you'd think you'd hear of more wins, but of course like all else, its just an advertising gimmick.I more or less continue to play more out of boredom, rather than an actual hope of ever winning anything. Sweeps just aren't the same anymore. One website which is a weekly out of how many years Iv'e attempted to win a watch.... still never won But it does show winners supposedly. One person's name was listed more than once in less than a 3 month time & another same last name within this same amount of time & also what looks like made up last names as they appear too original consistently for american names.

There are ups and downs in sweeping. As a long time sweeper, you have probably had some really good times, and some really slow times. Tons of people compete for the same prizes and it is hard to win. Lots of people give up and quit. Others stick it out through good and bad spells. Winning is random.

Some people take a long break from entering, and then return refreshed and ready to try again.

Sweeping is a hobby, which should be fun.

Everyone wishes to win, but if not, having a negative attitude will not help. If you wish to continue sweeping, try to take a positive approach.

The Sweeper's Credo:

Enter and forget it.

Always be happy for those who win - even when they win "your" prize - and be positive you will win.

Sweeping is a hobby that is all about timing. Especially for those elusive instants! IF you enter at the exact right moment, you will win.

If not? Sad to say you won't. But I assure you - it's nothing personal, and those who win a lot don't have any "secrets" - they are just consistent, persistent, and patient.

I really believe that if you go into it thinking you can't win, well, you'll MAKE yourself right so often you'll start believing it!!!

I truly do believe you have to have a positive attitude - don't get hung up on what others are doing - just focus on entering, then move on to something else - like posting so we can get to know you!!!

So hang in there - and enter, enter, enter - and you'll be posting a win before you know it!!! And remember - every day brings new opportunities to win!!!
 
But reality is reality & a lot of these so called sweeps are just paid advertisements or scams. They never show winners lists anymore. Even though they tell you to stay tuned for the winner. They never give you odds of winning anymore. I too have had "winners" on instant win games, only to sit & look to see if any details of my win are going to pop up. Only to have it readjust itself & declare me a loser. I'm not the only one to have this happen over & over.

But I do agree that you can't depend/rely upon winning something, because the chances are slim And should only be played as a hobby or something to do for boredom.
 
It's 2014 and I'm with you. Very few wins now. What happened? Is it my computer? Have computer geeks figured out how to hack in and win? Something seems very strange.

I try to stay positive and I always think I am going to win! I have a bucket list of wins that I hope to have this year, nothing checked off as yet. There were so many that ended in December I was so sure one would come thru for me, not yet, but staying positive!!!!
 
I am another one who used to win a lot. Even the instant wins- I'd have a whole array of various gift cards in my purse from IWs. My friends and family used to be amazed how much I won, and the UPS and Fed Ex trucks used to make regular appearances. But lately, the last year or so? Almost completely dried up, even though I now enter way more categories than I used to. I wonder if sweeping has become a fad and so many more people are doing it now and that's why we're not winning as much? Anyway, whine whine, grumble grumble. As soon as I win the HGTV dream home, I'm going to take the money and run and I'm quitting this!

rlsuaso - I used to win a lot too, but I got much more selective and enter fewer "gimme" {where just about everyone wins a small prize} promos now.

In 2014, 6 coupons {5 Snickers & $3 off Fresh Step} and $15 from camel sweepstakes is all I've won. 2013 was slow too, but I remember it was like this right before I won my biggie {$10,000} so I keep plugging along!
 
I am right there with yall the more I enter the less I have won this yea.r I had a good year in 2013 but this year I think I must have been blacklisted with you! and I enter 5+ hrs. a day... so I am going to whine and cry and pitch a fit and hope that helps lol and keep going at it but I am starting to be burned out with no win's, may we all have big win in 2014 ♥
