Hello all,

I've been doing the sweepstake thing for a few years now and noticed that whenever I start using a new email address (I change my email address about once a year), my winning frequency goes up in the following months. I'm not sure why it's happening, but one theory is that some sweepstakes have spam blockers, and if they see an email address that has been signing up for many sweepstakes it will block it (sometimes it even tells you that your account is "throwaway"). Do you agree or have a better explanation? I may need to change my email address every month :)

Thanks!

I change my email every 12 to 18 months. Our information is undoubtedly sold at some point due to this hobby and I can always tell when my email is compromised because I start getting a TON of spam. After I change it, I do seem to win more initially. I can only assume many companies have technology to determine the integrity of our email addresses and there are some sweeps administrators like Viral Sweep who actively blacklist emails.

I haven't changed my email in many years. I feel like I'm still winning pretty regularly. However, when I'm in a dry period, I often wonder if its because I haven't changed my email. You've given me something to think about. 🤔

I have to say I have been sweeping since before email was invented. I have the same email that I started with. Some years have been amazing. I have not had much success since Covid. I believe things have changed, however, it will probably change again in the future. The way I see it..it is not my email. How much you do your sweeping really maters and how many sweeps you enter matters too. The economy is a big part of whats happening right now. When things are doing well in the economy, then there are more contests and sweepstakes. Look at the price of eggs.. it tells the whole story. As the economy gets better, we will potentially win more. Also, eran2011 don't change your email every month, remember your address stays the same!
