Seeking Some Advice

I remember reading something like this on the forum, but I cannot remember who posted it or how it ended. I hope the person who posted it will read this or maybe someone else will be able to help.

I entered and won a Facebook contest here on SA (not saying which as I haven't confirmed the win). Anyways it turns out it was a local company thing. They are not anywhere close to where I live. It is just a giftcard, but he told me to pick it up in person.

How does one politely ask to have it mailed?

Any one ever dealt with this?

Krystle, are you able to access the rules? If it was a local sweep and you're not local you need to make sure you were eligible to enter before you ask if they'll mail it to you.
 
krystlekouture - If they told you you won, and gave directions to where to pick it up, most likely they are saying you *have* to.

FB sweeps rules poof when they end, so unless you saved them, you are probably out of luck here.

See if they will send you the rules - where it states you must pick it up.

Oh yeah - sometimes they tell you that on the DETAILS {Landing} Page, not the rules!
 
btw krystlekouture - I save FB rules for the ones I enter - if you like, you can pm me the name of the sweeps and I'll look to see if I have them :sunny:
 
Prizes may not be assigned or transferred. Schutte Lumber Company and its affiliates are not responsible for the contestant’s inability to make arrangements to take delivery of the prize or prove eligibility.

That part of the rule tell me they don't have to ship the prize.

I hope you win something better you can pick up.

Oh well... as my grandmother was fond of saying, NEXT! :laughing:

Pretend this was a practice run, or go read the post by the poor SA'er who missed a $10,000 win because they didn't check their email and missed the affy window - my son stopped sweeping for a long time after he missed the window on a $500 win!!! :crazytongue:
 
I won something from a FB contest and they wanted me to pick it up. They were in a different state than i was. I read the rules and they didn't say anything about having to pick it up, so after some debate they mailed me the prize, which was $150.00 worth of Chocolate Sweepstakes & Giveaways.
 
KatiesMom :wave: you are the person I was thinking of! I remember it was chocolate!

I'm glad it worked out,but I don't want to get my hopes up.
