Just received a pretty convincing email but research proved it to be another scam Just a heads up.
The e-mail claimed to be from the Internal Revenue Service and sought to inform recipients they were eligible for a tax refund.
"After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code," the e-mail said.
While the text is heavy with professional-sounding jargon, there are many errors in the e-mail that help prove it is a fraud. The biggest of all, section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code is the code reserved for nonprofit organizations.
Beware.
