Rhapsody - DO NOT TRUST THEM!!!

So I had 20.00 in free song downloads curtesy of the Logitech contest and my family members for giving me their codes. I had the standard free Rhaposdy on my computer untill I upgraded my cell phone to the new Verizon Dare which I luv. It comes with software that combines Verizon and Rhaposdy so that I can download songs to my phone. So I removed the old Rhapsody software installed the new software. I was still able to log into my account and I saw my 20.00 in Free Song downloads. That was two weeks ago fast forward to today and I was locked out of signing in each time I did it said did not recognize the user name or password.

So I call Rhapsody or should I say India and the caller was able to find my account and magically I was able to sign and low and behold he tells me that I have never downloaded music and he can check back 6 years I tell him that he is incorrect as I purchased Janet Jackson's new album, Rihanna songs and he says that there is no record of that. When I was able to sign in I also saw that my 20.00 was gone and he stated that there is no record of that and asked for a code that I had from the contest. I told him that was from over a month ago almost two months ago and I deleted the emails. He stated that he was sorry and that there was nothing that could be done. Now I was really pissed off :cussing: and I demanded a supervisor and he tells me that I will be told the same thing. I told him that is fine I want a supervisor to tell me this. I was transferred to a supervisor still in India. She then stated that she could not do anything an upgraded the call to the next level of support. I am still steaming as I made this call on my cell phone nothing like being on a call forever!!!. So next up was person number 3 guess where I still was???? I believe it may have been the good ol US. But this person did nothing for me either tell me that the promotion allowed only 1 code per email address and I told her the contest allowed 1 winner per email address but that there was nothing in the rules which stated that the code could not be given to someone else. She stated that there was nothing she could do either and do email logitch at help@feeliberated.com. Which is what I am going to do know but I feel I will still be royal screwed. :cussing:

I am sorry that this has been a frustrating experience for you. Did you save your downloaded songs anywhere else on your computer? If it were me, I'd try searching my computer for any sort of record that the songs or still there, or I once had them.

As a general FYI, I think this is probably the same for different music services. I have found that they will usually only accept one winning code per account. I do use Rhapsody and discovered that it would not take a separate code from the same contest. Personally, I have found Rhapsody to be an adequate, but not great service. However, their customer service was equally "helpful" with me when I had a question, so I do understand your negative feelings towards them.

mpgelb,

I have read on another board that Rhapsody has suspended accounts after redeeming the codes won from Logitech and I agree Verizon support is terrible. I won the Rhapsody codes from Logitech also and won't be using them. I was going to put them up for trade but after reading about your experience I will give you the codes if you want to take the chance with them.

when you call before you give them any information just say you want to speak with a tier 2 customer service agent (american). After alot of wrangling, I was able to get someone who could help. But I would probably bet you won't get all your credit, maybe some, like i did.

Good Luck!
