If you have good evidence of a sweepstakes listed on SA involved in scam practices please send us a feedback with the site url & some description of the scam. SA administration will validate the claim and post the website in this forum.

Indications of a Scam Sweepstakes:

1. Many large prizes offered but no identifiable product or sponsor of the sweepstakes.

2. No winners lists or information on where to obtain it.

3. Personal Experience

4. A claim or processing fee is required to obtain your prize.

Thank You.

Hi,

I got a phone call earlier today from a company called "Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines", everything was fine and exciting until they mentioned the $118.00 fee I had to pay. I did not accept the offer. I later checked online and there are so many complaints about this company. Please folks, please don't let these people scam you. If 1-800-730-0272 shows up on your caller ID tell them never to call you again or just don't answer the phone.

Good luck everyone,
Jodi
xoxo

No it's not real. It's a scam. This was not listed at SA.

thank you pmeek! i pretty much knew it wasnt real, Im new to entering sweeps and I think my husband is kinda gettin way to into me winning so he was like...ARE YOU SURE ITS NOT REAL??????????????????????????????????? HAHAHA so i thought i better check! is this the place to post questions like this or is there another section on this website if i get an award notification im not sure about? thanks and good luck to everyone!

I received an e-mail from Microsoft Awards Central telling me that I had won one million pounds from their data base promotions. It was so well done that I hesitated for a moment. Then I e-mailed Microsoft and they wrote back that it was a hoax. I don't know why they don't sue these people. There was a lot of contact info and they are using the Microsoft name in a scam. Intellectually, I knew it was not real but there was that moment of doubt because they actually said it was from a Microsoft promotion. I have gotten three others this week that I deleted at once but THIS SEEMED SO REAL!

Scam alert mercedes and cash

Just reported this in the wrong place, so here's a copy...

My 82 year old father just got a call from someone who identified himself as 'John Brown'. Dad handed the phone to me.
The caller had a foreign accent, possible Indian. He said my dad won a Mercedes and cash and he could pick it up in Washington DC, or they would deliver it today by UPS. He told me he was with a company called 'Winners Winners' that is associated with Publishers Clearing House. He said dad would have to pay a 1% tax if the prize was delivered. I asked him how they were going to deliver a car by UPS and he said with a dolly! Haha. The phone number he gave was 202-506-8714. The number did not show on the cellphone.
I told him we would talk it over and call back in a half hour.

I was of course skeptical. I looked online and found similar scams. I won't be calling John Brown!
Does anyone know a way to report these scams?

I was a winner for the December draw (held the 1st week in January) for the $100.00 Visa Gift Card from Kip's Free Stuff. It is still listed on his website. He did not contact me about the win I just saw my name as a winner of the $100.00 Visa and another girl listed as the $250.00 Amazon gift card winner. I sent him an email and thanked them and sent my mailing address and phone number to him that day. He did not responded. I waited about 3 more days and sent another email and went to his site and left a message in the chat box about my win and he sent me a $10.00 Amazon gift card. I went to his facebook page and left another message about my win of the $100.00 Visa and not $10.00 amazon card and he still did not acknowledge me. I've done all I can do to correct this. That's not what I won and this is very upsetting to me. I did put a message about this in the scam reporting section so I wanted to make sure I had done this correctly and notify you of this.
