I watched an interesting video about the history of Captchas. Version 1 was the warped 2 words, and machine learning surpassed human input pretty quickly and more accurately. Captcha v2 was introduced with the "click on all pictures of..." grid. It too was surpassed by machine learning over humans. So, Google developed "invisible" Captcha v3. Just a check box that verifies "I'm not a robot". Why so simple you ask? It's analyzing EVERYTHING you do on the web site. Type too fast? You may be a bot. Fill a form all at once !!!? You may be a bot.
Yep, Robofill etc. triggers Captcha v3 to further test you. Back to clicking on bicycles and crosswalks.
Version 3 video.
