R FACEBOOK likes really a necessity

I think it is an invasion of privacy to have every entry posted on FACEBOOK and I want to know if its necessary to "like" it on every
sweeps I enter.

For most fb sweepstakes liking a page is a requirement of the sweeps and your liking it will show up in your timeline, but you can just delete the message that shows that you liked it.When you hit share, it will show in your timeline that you entered the sweeps, but you can also delete that.

I have an fb account that I use just for sweeping, so I don't really worry too much about the privacy thing because I don't really have any personal information on there and I have no friends on that account.

We are free to decide what our comfort level is on every sweeps we enter, and it's on us to check out their privacy policy and decide when they go above that level.

*Many* sweeps have loose privacy policies, and we are all responsible for reading them, along with the rules, before we commit our info. SA/SP doesn't control how sponsors/JA's run their sweeps.

Almost *all* FB sweeps ask to do this so they can put their promo info on your wall. I just allow them for the duration {some 1x's require you to continue to like them up to the end of the sweeps} Then I delete the app - for info on how to do that:

Facebook How to Delete Applications & UNLIKE & Secure browsing is not supported:

I keep in mind that when a sponsor chooses to use their advertising money on a promotion {sweepstakes, contest, etc.} that they are looking for new customers and/or trying to keep the ones they have, and they will utilize what works. FB works for them, so I see FB being the norm going forward.

You can actually go into your account settings and hide your page likes so they will all be automatically hidden from everyone. That's how I have mine set.

Go to your profile, select "update info" then click on the "About" drop down menu and select "Likes". From there, select "edit" in the right corner, and scroll down to "Other Pages You Like", and from the drop down menu select "only me".

Hope that helps!
