Quicker Windows Refreshing

All computers have a certain refresh rate. You can see this when you change the contents of a folder and it takes a bit of time for the changes to take effect. Sometimes computers will act a little sluggish and the screen doesn't refresh very fast. If this is something that you've noticed on your computer give this a try.

In your Registry Editor, go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Update.

You should see a String value named UpdateMode. Right-click this value and select Modify. Change the Value Data to 00. Close the Editor and restart your system. You should see some difference in the amount of time it takes for Windows to refresh.

Remember! Messing around in the Registry Editor can do serious damage to your pc! You should only do this if you feel comfortable enough and are careful enough. One mistyped letter or number can have severe consequences. So, be forewarned.
