Question/Lost Prizes

I have a question - Have any of you won a big prize that then the company "lost" part of it before they sent it?

I recently won one of those award show type bags - that are filled with all kinds of goodies. I was SUPER excited - I have always wanted to win one of those. Well several weeks ago I got only a portion of the prizes that were pictured and listed - so I inquired with the company. We have been going back and forth for weeks - but it looks like half of the prizes were lost by them - or at least they are "going to get back to me" but i have heard nothing…

I was just wondering if this happens to others? And what exactly do you or can you do about it?

I am super grateful for the prize - but I also don't want to claim an ARV that I clearly did not receive.

They admitted they lost them or do you assume they did?

I ask because these types of promos usually have multiple sponsors/prize fulfillment, and you might have to drill down to find who is in charge of the missing prizes, gl!

Thank you for replying - They told me they aren't sure what happened - not sure if it was lost with them or if they never received the items. However, they took a picture with all the items shown - and there were some little cards from the site inside the box. Originally they told me they were all in the one box - when I stated that many of the items weren't they backtracked a bit and now they say maybe it was the other party. I have been fairly patient - its been almost a month - and while early on they were updating me - I have sent 3 messages in the last week with no response at all. It's frustrating because I have offered to give them any information they need such as a list of the missing items etc… but now no response? Its about 1/4 of the total ARV of the prize - and while I am grateful for the prize and the win it certainly has put a bit of damper on the whole thing.

Again any tips are much appreciate

Ah, this is where the sweeper's credo comes into play - Patience! {From; ...consistent, persistent, and patient.}

If it were me? I'd send them the info on the missing prizes, say you understand how difficult tracking this down is, then back off and let them take up the ball again.

Then I'd move on and enter other promos and put it out of my mind. Granted, that's easy for me since I have like NO short term memory, but still - maybe write yourself a note that if you don't hear back/get the prizes by 10/31, then you'll revisit this.

Dr's aren't the only ones who dislike laymen telling them how to do their job.

Oh yeah - the ARV - you could also ask that they give you a modified 1099 so you don't get {ahem} twice!

Thank you I definitely appreciate your input. I sent a last messages and basically put it to rest - I basically said guess the other prizes are lost - but I enjoy what i did receive. I decided to end it - regardless if they find the items or not because i was kind of sick of pulling my hair out… Patience… not by biggest strength LOL
That being said yes I will definitely contact them about fixing the ARV as we get to that step.
