Won a gift card over $600. An affidavit needs to be filled out with SS# and DOB. Just checking to see if anyone has had to deal with PrizeLogic and if they are legit. Thanks.

Amy,

It was the SC Johnson sweeps. Yes, I entered, but get concerned when asking for SS# and DOB. I understand over $600 has to be turned in, but just wanted some reassurance before faxing affidavit.

Thanks

There are typically two companies involved in a sweepstakes. The Sponsor (S C Johnson) and the Administrator/Promoter (PrizeLogic). Usually the Sponsor lacks the knowledge of the Federal and various State sweepstakes laws, so they hire a Promoter/Administrator to design the sweepstakes and manage it. The Sponsor provides the prize(S), and the Promoter acts as the Fulfillment Co. that awards and send out the prize(s). PrizeLogic is a Promoter and has been around for years. If you check the rules for the various sweeps you enter, you'll usually find a Promotion Co. listed. ePrize, Don Jagoda, Marden-Kane and Ventura Associates are other Promotion companies that you may find, although there probably are hundreds of them in the US.

Ah yes - I've been asked for an affy for a t-shirt in the past {I declined the win} but if you are concerned they ask for a prize under $600, talk to them - sometimes they use the same rules/requirements for ALL prizes & if you bring it to their attention, they *might* not require an affy/SSN/etc
