I won a sweeps with some various prizes, one of which was supposed to be a Yeti cooler. They sent a very cheap Engle cooler ( not one of the ones that are as good as Yeti ). What I want to know is should I complain to them. It reduces the prize value about $200. Out of all the years I've been sweeping, I've never had this happen. Any advise would be appreciated.

johnsnook - I would act befuddled & question their choice/substitution [even tho they are probably covered by their rules] and at the very least, I'd request an adjusted ARV on the future 1099 they will send you if the total exceeded $600 & if the cooler subbed brought the total ARV below $600 that you'd expect NOT to receive a 1099!

The first thing I did was read the rules, and they state that they have the right to substitute a prize, but they also state with a prize of equal or more value. This cooler is not comparable to a Yeti cooler in price.

This happened to me with Chips Ahoy, the prize was a gaming headset and they sent cheap headphones.
I inquired and they said they would contact sponsor.
The fulfillment company later sent the right prize.
I encourage you to send a note explaining how you feel and see what they can do. It cannot hurt. Be polite, be honest, and go for it.

I would send a note, if they do not swap, I would note my displeasure. I am not sure what else you can do though.
