Possible Wins?-Need your advice

Email from [email protected] stating I am winnerof $700,000 British Pounds and asking for information. Don't remember this contest do you think I should reply? Also [email protected] with a customer ID that states I am a potential winner of $1000 vouchers for Walmart,Expedia or Best Buy also requesting I click on link (at the very bottom is says advertising material. Thought I'd ask you "professionals" as I am new to sweeping and don't want to get dooped. Thanks. :scratch:
 
:wave: Both are Scams! Clues in just the short sentences that you provided.
1st email - Hotmail email address, Hotmail email address with uk
2nd email - email address, potential winner

You would definitely be dooped if you replied to either of these.

I am moving your post to Recent Scams as Ken likes to keep the Winner's Circle free of other topics.
 
Hi...sorry. Any email mentioning HUGE amounts of money, especially from Asia or UK is bogus. DON'T open.
Also, the other one is ENDLESS ads. Just for fun one day, I decided to see if it was even possible to get to the end. I did it for one solid hour. Nope...there is no end!
 
rule of thumb:

1} Did I enter this sweeps?
2} Is the email address consistent with the sponsor/promo?
3} Is the prize I "won" listed as a prize if it was a sweeps I entered?

If NO to any of the above, it's a scam.
